Distributed Test Operations (DTO)

Abstract

Power Point is a "tech brief" assignment for Mr. Denning's TST 303V (Virtual) class, which he is required to complete as an NH-04. The Power Point presentation covers, at a non-technical level, the recent and growing use of inter-range DREN/DISA connections between Edwards and other test ranges for the purposes of Distributed Test Operations (DTO). DTO is increasingly being used to allow testing with an aircraft flying at one test range, while the data from the mission is transported to a range across the country for use by flight test engineers/test teams. This reduces TDY/travel costs, and has been used more often this last 9 months to avoid COVID exposure for test teams. The brief specifically avoids mention of any test program specifics or other sensitive data. The brief will ONLY be used for the purposes of the DAU course.
