F-111 Aircraft

Abstract

The F-111A/C/D/E/F are versions of the F-111 which evolved from the concurrent development and production of this two engine, two-man crew, all-weather tactical aircraft. These fighter bombers can deliver nuclear and conventional weapons at subsonic or supersonic speeds. A unique feature of the F-111 is its variable sweep-wing, which pivots back for high speed flight and pivots forward for short takeoff and landing capability. Another unique feature is its crew compartment which serves as an emergency escape module.
