IDA Contributions to the Soldier and Small Unit Operational Energy Program

Abstract

In 2014, NSRDEC tasked the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) to contribute to the Soldier and Small Unit Operational Energy (SSUOE) Program to offer innovative solutions to the dismounted squads power challenges, and those contributions are ongoing as of March 2017. This paper summarizes IDAs completed contributions to the SSUOE Program from 2014-2017 for the following assigned tasks and deliverables: Power-consuming Battlefield Equipment, Low Power Tactical Communications, Current and Emerging Requirements, Process Improvements, Trade Space Left of the Requirement.
