Abstract

The human brain is a powerful tool for quickly recognizingpatterns, but it frequently makes errors in interpreting randomdata. Luckily, these mistakes occur in systematic and predictableways. Statistical models provide an analytical framework thathelps us avoid these error-prone heuristics and draw accurateconclusions from random data.
