Combat leadership: a comparative study of Scipio Africanus and Erwin Rommel.

Abstract

This comparative study is a historical review of Scipio Africanus and Erwin Rommel in the context of combat leadership. They are compared and assessed according to the author's "Four Tenets" that were developed from personal experience, Department of Defense officership doctrine and USMC and US Army doctrine. The purpose of the thesis is to offer a view of two vetted combat commanders, separated by thousands of years and operating in different arenas of the environments of the tactical, operational and strategic.
