Fit and Sizing Evaluation of a Prototype Female Body Armor System

Abstract

This report details the results of a fit and sizing evaluation of the prototype female body armor system. The objective of this field test was to validate the sizing and design on a sufficient number of female Soldiers. Based on the results, changes to the sizing or design would be recommended so that a final set of patterns could be developed. The goal of the overall project is to have a body armor system that provides at least an acceptable fit to 90 percent of female Soldiers, and that has a rate of predicted size being the best fitting size for 85 percent of female Soldiers.
