The Salween Campaign, China. May 1944 to January 1945

Abstract

The purpose of this monograph is to cover the operations of two Chinese Army Groups in the SALWEEN offensive during the period May, 1944 to January, 1945. In order to provide a common understanding and a sufficient orientation for this discussion, I intend to introduce you to the China Theater, with its terrain and army, before going into the details of the campaign. As a matter of fact the China theater was at that time part of the China-Burma-India Theater.
