Decision Support System Engineering for Time Critical Targeting

Abstract

Effective decision support for complex military operations requires more than the development of sophisticated decision aids. A decision aid must be integrated into a decision support system that brings to the decision aid the right information at the right time at the right level of detail. The user must have confidence in the tools results. This paper describes decision aids being developed for Time Critical Targeting applications and discusses the additional factors influencing effective decision support system engineering for these applications.
