Severe Upper Limb Injuries in U.S. Active Component Military Personnel: Incidence, Risk Factors and Outcomes, 2003 to 2012

Abstract

The primary research objective was to determine the incidence, risk factors, and outcomes associated with Severe Upper Limb Injuries (SULI) in U.S. active component military personnel. The secondary research objective was to develop a surveillance definition for upper limb salvage (SAL) and determine risk factors for specific outcomes (chronic pain and attrition) in service members who underwent upper limb salvage.
