Controlling Atomic-Scale Quantum Magnetic Structures

Abstract

This grant supports research in quantum magnetism of single-atom spins, magnetic sensing and imaging, and single-atom quantum bits using a scanning tunneling microscope. IBM has demonstrated major progress in all three sets of goals during the 2017-2020 funding period. This progress is documented in twelve publications in high-impact journals, and summarized in this report.
