Army Reserve Warrant Officer Accession Program Transformation

Abstract

The Army Reserve Warrant Officer Program Transformation startedin 1998. The program was transferred from the United StatesArmy Recruiting Command (USAREC) to the United States ArmyReserve Command (USARC) located at Fort McPherson, Georgia whichis responsible for all Army Reserve units within the Army. TheUSARC plan was to save money by performing the warrant officeraccessioning mission themselves rather than funding the programthrough USAREC. USAREC had developed a very successful programthrough years of experience and had been accomplishing themission with great success. USARC failed to produce the requirednumber of candidates to maintain and ultimately fill therequired vacancies within their ranks.
