The Lack of Experience on the Battlefield

Abstract

Since the battles of the 20th century the American Soldier has lacked the necessary training andexperience to fight fearlessly and win on the battlefield. The absence of strong leadership at theofficer and senior noncommissioned officer level has been a catalyst for the loss of life andequipment.. This paper will discuss some of the reasons for success and failure in combat. Itwill conclude with the current status of our forces.
