A User's Guide to Processing Your Human Systems Integration (HSI) Data

Abstract

This report is for researchers and analysts of all types but was prepared for the Human Systems Integration community of practice. This information may help you ensure that the normality assumption is met for your data set before doing your most commonly used parametric statistics (stats that require normalized data) such as t-tests, ANOVAs, ANCOVAs, MANOVAs, MANCOVAs, linear regression, and Pearson correlation. The treatment of missing data, assessment of normality, and transformations to account for skewness in data is often skipped or ignored, which can cause non-optimal statistical findings. These steps are arguably the most important for parametric statistical tests.
