Active Reflection Coefficient Assessment for Co-Located MIMO Radars Transmitting Multi-Functional Waveforms - Additional Analysis (Preprint)

Abstract

During the comprehensive examination that took place on December 3rd 2020 the graduate committee composed of Dr.James Aberle, Dr. Daniel Bliss, Dr. Rodolfo Diaz, and Dr. Dan Janning requested additional details on three technical topics or sections. The first section of this report presents the results of the hypothesis formulated to describe possible reasons for the deviations between measured and simulated results in the active voltage wave standing wave ratio(VSWR) plots presented during the examination [1]. A second piece of the report discusses the discrepancies between predicted and measured radiated fields in the side sectors observed on the azimuth cuts using the patch antenna and the BEEMER system. The last section describes performance effects after the optimization of the original orthogonal DDMA waveforms used in the BEEMER experiment.
