Direct Assistance to the Afghan Government Presents Risks

Abstract

I am pleased to be here today to provide an update on SIGAR's work regarding the U.S. governments plans to transfer responsibility to the Afghan government for management of the petroleum, oil, and lubricants (POL) provided to the Afghan National Army (ANA) and to discuss the broader challenges raised by this audit especially as it relates to forms of direct assistance to the government of Afghanistan.
