Quarterly Report to the United States Congress, July 30, 2010

Abstract

This reporting period, concerns mounted over the pace of the reconstruction effort in Afghanistan, now in its ninth year. A sense of urgency pervades both Afghanistan and the international community: the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GIRoA) must take more responsibility for the countrys future. The success of the U.S. and international strategy for reconstruction rests on the GIRoA's ability to independently provide for the nations security and lead sustained economic development.
