Toxicology Assessment for Safer Alternatives for Readiness (SAFR) Program Work Unit ALR 18-01: Green, Improved Process: DBX-1 Lab-RAM

Abstract

This report is a Toxicology Assessment for the components of an improved method of loading percussion primers for small arms. The automated filling process eliminates the hazard to ammunition plant workers who have been hand filling caps for decades. The filling suspension is DBX-1 in isopropyl alcohol. The human and environmental hazard from the process is assessed to be low.
