Proton Radiography for Density Movies of Dynamic Exploding Events

Abstract

Proton radiography images a movie of dynamic exploding events. The 800 MeV proton source from the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center's linear accelerator allows imaging of explosive detonation and material failure mechanisms. This presentation describes the spatial and temporal resolution achievable at the facility, and describes multiple types of experiments performed.
