Tests of Model TBA-1A Transmitting Equipment (After modification by mfgr.)

Abstract

It is recommended: that the Model T.B.A.-1A transmitter be supplied with a switch by means of which it would be possible to open the filament circuit of the master oscillator tube when the transmitter is not being used and it is still desirable to permit the temperature control circuits to operate; That the present Model T.B.A.-1A design be considered as unsuitable for perpetuation in future designs of equipment of this particular type; That the Model T.B.A.-1.A equipment be considered suitable for installation on board a Naval vessel, since only one model of this particular transmitter is in existence and it would require a complete rebuilding of the transmitter in order to obtain greatly improved performance.
