The Information Warfighter Exercise Wargame: Rulebook

Abstract

The Marine Corps Information Operations Center (MCIOC) conducts an Information Warfighter Exercise (IWX) one to two times per year. Many recent IWXs (some under the prior exercise nomenclature Combined Unit Exercise, or CUX) have included a wargame-like opposed free play element in which teams of participants prepare plans for operations in the information environment (OIE) and then revise them based on friction encountered within a notional scenario and perhaps as opposed by other teams.
