Test of Model TBF-a Transmitting Equipment

Abstract

The Model TBF-a transmitter is similar in construction to the Model TBF transmitting equipments. The frequency range covered by the Model TBF equipment is 2000 kcs to 4525 kcs, while the range of the Model TBF-a is 2000 kcs to 18,100 kcs. This extension to the frequency range is accomplished by the addition of a range switch and the proper proportioning of the inductance and capacity values which form the tank circuit is identical to that used in the regular TBF transmitter. Only one additional control has been added in order to obtain this extension of the frequency range; namely, the range switch which is of the multi-contact type.
