Emulsion Formation of the "A" Series of Fuel Oils
Abstract
The original problem given dealt with the characteristics and supply of fuel oil for the Navy. In this report it is shown that the stability of an emulsion can be affected by the method by which the emulsion is prepared and the type of water dispersed in the oil. Thus, emulsions formed by steam may show greater instability than emulsions formed from fresh water. Usually the emulsions formed from sea water show less stability than emulsions made from steam or the emulsions made from fresh water.
