Therapeutic Targeting of Neuroendocrine Prostate Cancer
Abstract
Neuroendocrine prostate cancer is an advanced form of this disease with very limited option of effective treatment. It has been shown that BRN2 is highly expressed in NEPC, and preliminary in vitro data show that inhibition of BRN2 decreases tumor cells growth. We will perform preclinical evaluation of efficacy of a novel BRN2 inhibitor alone, in combination with carboplatin (a standard therapy for neuroendocrine prostate cancer) to determine whether this treatment inhibits progression of NEPC and provides survival benefits.
