Abstract

The equipment, shown by Plate 1, was interconnected electrically to a 115 volt direct current supply and checked for conformance with specifications, reference (b). The complete system was tested for endurance by operating it for 500 continuous hours, at a speed of 300 r.p.m., the approximate surface speed of the ships for which it is intended, reference (c).
