Prevaccination Against COVID-19 Among Air Force Military Recruits

Abstract

Air Force Basic Military Trainees began arriving to Lackland Air Force Base either partially or fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in the beginning of 2021. During the defined 15-week time frame (March2-June 15), 600-900 trainees entered BMT on a weekly basis. The rate of trainees, who arrived to BMT either partially or fully vaccinated, increased on a weekly basis in 12 out of the 15 weeks. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines were the predominate vaccines throughout this period. The majority of trainees arrived to BMT fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (range: 58-98% per week).
