Water Recovery in Lighter-Than-Air Craft; Study of the Properties of Granular Silicon Gel

Abstract

This report considers studies of the properties of granular silicon gel in relation to its use for the recovery of water from the atmosphere to compensate for the consumed weight of fuel on lighter-than-aircraft. In it are studied the processes of adsorption of water from the air, the reactivation of the saturated gel and sundry properties of granular silica gel which may affect its use for this purpose.
