Test of Thermometers Submitted by the Palmer Company

Abstract

The thermometers were tested for accuracy of calibration, for accuracy of dimensions, to determine whether the expansion chamber provides protection up to a temperature of 100 deg C., to determine whether mercury contracts into the bulb at -10 deg C., and to ascertain their ability to withstand shock without separation of the mercury column.
