A Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)-Based Instrumentation System for an Embedded Flight Controller

Abstract

The US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Army Research Laboratory has redesigned the Multifunctional Instrumentation and Data Acquisition System (MIDAS) to include a serial peripheral interface and a new digital inertial measurement unit. This newest version of MIDAS has been successfully used in several flight experiments, and will continue to support future smart munitions research and development.
