Abstract
Total Floor Area is defined as all covered area, both direct and indirect, owned, rented or leased by the facility and equipped and available for work related to the aircraft program. Direct Floor Area is defined as all covered area equipped and available for direct manufacturing, such as fabrication, processing, sub-assembly and assembly. Productive Floor Area which approximates direct plus indirect factory floor space, is shown for the period, March, 1941 through June 1941; Total and Productive Floor Area for the period, September, 1941 through September 1942. Beginning with December, 1942, Total and Direct Area data are shown, with Direct broken down further into Aeronautical and Experimental.
