Biotransformation and Potential Mineralization of PFOS, PFHxS, and PFOA by Acidimicrobiaceae sp. A6 under Iron Reducing Conditions

Abstract

The objective of this research was to verify these findings, determine if other compounds of interest at DoD sites, like PFHxS, could also be degraded, and gain further insights into the mechanism by which A6 defluorinates these PFAS, including the role of the two dehalogenase genes expressed during the defluorination of these PFAS.
