Report on Self-Sealing Materials for Lubricating Oil Tanks of Military Aircraft

Abstract

The problem of protecting the lubricating systems of military aircraft from failure due to the damage of enemy fire is a matter of unquestioned importance. In view of the success of self-sealing tanks for gasoline, it has been hoped that a similar type of protection could be extended tolubricating oil tanks and lines.
