Test of Lucite Loops

Abstract

The loop samples were operated in direct comparison with the Model DU direction finder equipment and observations made for sensitivity, antenna effect, accuracy of bearings, unilateral operation with changes in temperature and humidity and the thermal variation with rapid changes in temperature. The equipment was installed in a type SBC-4 airplane and its operation compared directly to that of a Model DU direction finder. Comparative operation performance between the loops and the Model DW loop was observed in the field.
