A Presurgical Window-of-Opportunity Trial of the Effect of Aspirin on Immunological Features of Ovarian Tumors

Abstract

The objective of this project is to conduct a window-of-opportunity, pre-surgical, randomized-controlled clinical trial to assess the efficacy and safety of standard-dose aspirin in improving prognosis-related tumor characteristics. The trial will enroll 100 newly diagnosed ovarian cancer patients who plan to be treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy and interval debulking surgery into a randomized, controlled trial of daily 325mg enteric-coated aspirin vs. placebo. Currently, the trial is ready to begin at Moffitt Cancer Center pending receipt of the aspirin and placebo tablets in September 2021. Work is ongoing to initiate the trial at two external sites.
