Transformers, Type GF

Abstract

The sample transformers are of first class workmanship and comply with specifications, references, (b) and (c), except in the following respects: (1) The secondary voltage of the 100 VA sample was 0.2 volt below that required by paragraph E-4b. (2) The width of the eases exceeded that allowed by paragraph E-4d by 1 inch. (3) The hexagonal headed terminal bolts are not in agreement with drawing, reference (d). Square-headed bolts, as called for on the drawing, should be used to prevent the bolts from turning. (4) The flanges supporting the core of the 200 VA sample bent considerably under the HI shock test. It is believed that heavier flanges should be used.
