DEFENSE TRAVEL SYSTEM: Reported Savings Questionable and Implementation Challenges Remain

Abstract

In 1995, the Department of Defense (DOD) began an effort to implement a standard departmentwide travel system. The Defense Travel System (DTS) is envisioned as DODs standard end-to-end travel system. This report is a follow-up to GAOs January 2006, report which highlighted DTS implementation problems.
