Enhancing the Mission Command Training of Army Functional and Multifunctional Brigade Headquarters for Large-Scale Combat Operations

Abstract

This report documents research and analysis conducted as part of a project entitled Training Readiness for Headquarters of Separate Brigades, sponsored by U.S. Army Forces Command. The purpose of this project was to analyze mission command training conducted by different types of brigade headquarters. This analysis was aimed to identify gaps in existing training; ways that these gaps could be overcome using current or revised training approaches; proposals for approaches to mission command training that can be applied forcewide and across types of brigade headquarters; and differences across brigade types that must be incorporated into the design and execution of training to support mission command.
