Train students in procedures involved in preparing for and performing a Zoom Flight mission. Flight planning, computer programming, simulation practice, instrumentation, and flight. Zoom flight is just what the name implies: a high-arcing, ballistic-type trajectory flown by an aircraft, during which the pilot experiences and must cope with many of the principles and problems associated with space operations. It is a form of energy management demanding great skill and knowledge.
