XB-70 Flight Summary, Flight 1-6

Abstract

The sixth flight (Flight l-6)1of XB-70, No. 001, crewed by Mr. Al White, North American Aviation, Inc (NAA), Pilot and Lt Colonel Fitzhugh Fulton, AFFTC, Copilot, was accomplished on 25 Feb 65. Takeoff from Edwards AFB runway 04, at a gross, weight of approximately 450,000 pounds, occurred at 1117 hours PST. An emergency landing on lakebed runway 17 at 1210 hours. Total flight time was 53 minutes, maximum speed and altitude were Mach 0.97, 35,000 feet.
