Abstract

A variety of official messages and correspondence between headquarters and Air Force Flight Test Center (AFFTC) and the XB-70 Commander Task Force (CTF). Excerpt: SUBJ: TB-58 flight Training for XB-70 test pilots, REF SAC DOT 49996, 25 May and AFSC SCMOO-2 29-5-77, 29 MAY 62. Message in two parts. Part One. It has been directed that B-70 test pilots have previous B-58 experience. This headquarters considers it essential that initial portion of B-58 check-out for XB-70 test pilots be conducted under highly qualified supervision. Critical status of sortie availability at B-58 CCTS is recognized. Part Two. Desire SAC provide a minimum of two TB-58 sorties each to SB-70 test pilots.
