Summaries of Conclusions and Recommendations on Department of Defense Operations
Abstract
This is our first annual report of summaries of GAO conclusions and recommendations on Department of Defense operations which we believe will be of interest to your Committee in its review of the Department's budget request for fiscal year 1976. Our reports have previously brought these matters to the attention of the Congress and departmental officials. we have not included suggested questions to be asked in appropriation hearings; however, we will suggest specific questions on the items summarized if you desire. This report replaces our previous annual report of Significant Audit Findings in the Department of Defense. A report summarizing our conclusions and recommendations on civil department and agency operations is being submitted separately.
