DOD CIVILIANS IN EUROPE: Information on Increases Between Fiscal Years 1982 and 1986

Abstract

This briefing report responds to congressional concern about the growth in the number of civilian personnel working for the Department of Defense (DOD) in Europe since 1982, as discussed in Senate Report 99-446. As a result of our discussions with your offices, this briefing report also contains information on the cost of DOD civilian personnel in Europe, the number of civilian work years expended, and trends in outside contracting for services in Europe.
