Abstract

A toxic work environment indicates that an organization is not achieving its mission efficiently and is the largest predictor of employee attrition (MIT Sloan Management Review). Characteristics of workplace toxicity include harassment, abuse, and bullying; high employee turnover and absenteeism; fear of failure; fear of leaders and micromanagement; poor communication, gossip, and conflict; rivalries and politics among groups; etc.
