Cheyenne Computer

Abstract

Reliability concerns of the Cheyenne helicopters multipurpose computer prompted the Ad Hoc group to review studies pertaining to various aspects of it, evaluate its capability to perform functions, and recommend a course of action to assure that the Cheyenne system will have an adequate computer on a schedule. Although not certain, it is possible that the apparent unreliability of the computer resulted from inexperience and unfamiliarity of its initial engineers with this type of equipment.
