The Army Nuclear Power Program

Abstract

To provide recommendations that would meet military energy needs, the Ad Hoc Group came to two conclusions: there are no military requirements for power sources where nuclear offers an overall advantage over fossil fuels; however, for military purposes, nuclear power may reveal ways that the DOD can achieve new basic capabilities that will improve the wartime effectiveness and peacetime utility of US military forces.
