Abstract

In this report the AD Hoc group examines the requirements for flight simulation within the U.S. Army using ground based equipment for aviation research and development. In it, the Group recommends an increased emphasis on research and development in helicopter flying qualities, leadership steps from AVSCOM, support of the development of a flying-qualities-simulator as proposed by AMRDL, considering alternatives to the Visual Flight Research Facility as proposed by ARI, and finally, the support for an increase in flexibility of an existing training simulator proposed by ARI.
