Army Science Board Ad Hoc Subcommittee on Safety of Propellant and Explosive Production at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant

Abstract

After reviewing the explosive incidents at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant, the ASB Ad Hoc Subcommittee found that the plant is overall well managed and operated. Although, a few improvements could be made which include: hiring at least one additional professional safety manager, a comprehensive program of inspection and training, and others.
