Preliminary Report of Plot Room Television System

Abstract

In the fleet, present methods of communicating information concerning the bearings and ranges of targets from the Anti-aircraft plotting Room are ordinarily by telephone or synchro transmission. Theses methods have proven inadequate for handling a multiplicity of high speed targets. Several plans for solving his problem are in the experimental stages of development. Television scanning of the master plot in the Anti-aircraft Plotting Room (or in the Combat Information Center) and the reproduction of the plot on remote scopes, located at desired positions, is one of these plans.
