FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT: Opportunities to Strengthen Management of the Defense Business Operations Fund

Abstract

We are here today to present our views on the Department of Defense's progress in implementing and operating the Defense Business Operations Fund. In October 1991, Defense implemented the Fund, which consolidated the nine existing industrial and stock funds operated by the military services and Defense, as well as the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS), the Defense Industrial Plant Equipment Services, the Defense Commissary Agency, the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service, and the Defense Technical Information Service.
