The Saudi Arabian Armed Services: The Dance in the Desert

Abstract

The Saudi Arabian Armed Services (SAAS) are currently confronting unprecedented security challenges. The SAAS must secure the border region with the failing state in Yemen, prepare a crisis-response force for post-Assad Syria and western Iraq, tie counter-terrorism activities with the Jihadi rehabilitation program to counter DAISH, and increase capability of forces to counter the Iranian threat.
