Future Nonlinear Warfare and the Pervasiveness of Uncertainty: Organization and Cognition in Marine Corps Intelligence
Abstract
Future combat operations by brigade- and force-level Marine Air Ground Task Forces will be conducted in complex and chaotic settings composed of interdependent and interactive systems within systems. Elements of the deployable Marine Corps Intelligence Operations Center must adapt organizationally and cognitively to support decision making and reduce uncertainty in these future nonlinear war scenarios. This adaptation requires horizontal and cellular organizational structures to cultivate collective consciousness, unbounded flow of information, and conditioning of systems mentalities among Marine intelligence analysts.
